The new range of 350 cc Triumph bikes will be restricted to the Indian market only, export units continue to feature the 400 cc powerplant.
Triumph Motorcycles introduced the new 350 cc range of motorcycles in the Indian market. The above comes after the new GST ruling taxed all two-wheelers above 350 cc displacement at 40 per cent, which affected the Triumph’s 400 range pricing in India. Although the bikes are powered by a new 350 cc engine, the range is still called the 400. The reduction in GST has resulted in the pricing of the 2026 Triumph 350 cc motorcycle range dropping by ₹7,000 to ₹15,000 depending on the model. Here’s the revised price list.
Speaking on the announcement, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, "Bolstered by the massive success of our 400 range, with 1 lakh Triumphs now on Indian roads, we enter FY27 with strong momentum. The 18% GST bracket enables more competitive pricing while retaining the character and engineering excellence that define our products. We are confident that with these on-road savings, we will be able to bring many more riders into the Triumph family."
The new range of Triumph bikes are powered by a 350 cc engine. The drop in displacement was achieved by reducing the stroke of the engine. On the Triumph Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400X it now pumps out 36.50 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm, which is a drop of 3 bhp and 3.5 Nm respectively. On the Triumph Speed 400 T4, the motor is rated at 29 bhp and 31 Nm, a drop of 2 bhp and 5 Nm.
Apart from the change in engine all hardware components remain unchanged including the frame, wheels, brakes and suspension. It will be interesting to see how the drop in pricing will affect the sales of the bike and more importantly, whether the customers will appreciate the reduction in performance owing to the change in engine displacement.
