The Hosur-based manufacturer is already raking in good sales numbers with its electric scooter, the TVS iQube.
Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company, is betting high on its electric two-wheeler portfolio. In fact, the Hosur-based company predicts that in the next two years 25-30 per cent of its sales volume will consist of electric vehicles. This prediction was revealed to an Indian publication at the World Economic Forum in Davos by the company’s managing director, Sudarshan Venu. Currently, electric scooters make up for a mere 6 per cent of TVS Motors’ domestic two-wheeler production.
2024 saw TVS rise from strength to strength in the race to become the number one electric two-wheeler seller. What was earlier strongly guarded by Ola Electric, saw the Bengaluru-based EV company gradually lose the plot to the likes of TVS. The latter, with its strong, widespread service network and a very reliable product, became a solid alternative to the likes of Ola S1 Pros’.
Moving on, as part of its future plans, TVS is slated to launch more electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the future. The brand is further slated to expand its horizon by collaborating with Hyundai to usher in new mini electric mobility solutions in both three-wheeler and four-wheeler configurations. These products are slated to launch gradually in the coming years, however, a definite date is yet to be fixed.
But the most promising showcases had to be those ambitious concept products it displayed at its pavilion. One of the biggest attractions of them all had to be the stunning TVS iQube Vision. It ushered in a completely new design with several new futuristic innovative solutions. From HUD (Heads-up Display) to remote boot unlock, removable battery packs, and much more. The iQube Vision was so impressive that it bagged the much coveted Best Concept Bike Award at the Acko Drive Best of Show at Auto Expo 2025.
