April will see a bunch of ICE and EV SUVs being launched in India.
A new financial year is just around the corner, starting on April 1, 2025. With that comes a lot of new things: new taxes, new regulations, price hikes, but more importantly, new cars and SUVs. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for the first month of the Financial Year 2025-26 (FY26).
Launch: April 14, 2025
Expected Price: ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The Tiguan makes a comeback in India, and it comes as the fully-loaded R-Line model. Volkswagen has started accepting bookings for the full-size SUV, and it can be booked by paying a token amount of ₹25,000. The Tiguan R-Line will be available with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 201 bhp and 320 Nm.
Expected launch: Early April, 2025
Expected Price: ₹18 - 22 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The e Vitara will, unarguably, be the most anticipated launch of this month. It won’t be Maruti Suzuki’s most expensive car, but it will still serve as a flag bearer for the brand, especially in the electric vehicle (EV) space. The e Vitara made its global debut at the 2025 Auto Expo, and it was one of the biggest highlights of the motor show. However, not many details of the electric SUV have been revealed. But it is known that it will come with multiple drive modes, will be based on the Heartect-e platform, have ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, and will be the brand’s first car to come with ADAS.
Expected launch: Mid April, 2025
Expected price: ₹75 - 80 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The Cyberster has long been in the pipeline for India, with it making its India debut a year ago when JSW and MG Motor India announced its partnership. The India-spec Cyberster comes with a 77 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of around 500 km. It also gets a dual-motor setup with 503 bhp and 725 Nm, helping it sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. JSW MG Motor India recently opened pre-bookings for the Cyberster and M9 MPV. Sources also tell us that the brand is planning to launch an updated version of one of its existing EVs (Comet, Windsor or ZS EV).
Expected launch: Late April, 2025
Expected price: ₹22 - 26 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
This has to be one of the highly anticipated models to be launched by Tata Motors’ electric vehicle division. Based on its popular Harrier SUV, the Harrier EV will come with many firsts for Tata Motors. It will be the brand’s most expensive EV, the only EV with all wheel drive and the highest torque figure across the company’s portfolio. Sadly, not much else has been revealed about the upcoming midsize electric SUV.
Expected launch: Late April, 2025
Expected price: ₹45 - 50 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The Kodiaq will make a comeback to India with its second generation, which made its debut in the country at the 2025 Auto Expo. It will be assembled in India using completely knocked down (CKD) kits and will be available in two trims – Sportline and Laurin & Klement. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 201 bhp and 320 Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
