Along with more power, the refresh e-tron GT also gets a bigger battery and new variants.

Audi has revealed the updated e-tron GT and it gets better range, performance, charging and handling characteristics. The new e-tron GT will be available in three variants – S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT Performance.

Audi

The updated e-tron GT is now the most powerful production car Audi has ever made, with the RS e-tron GT Performance variant churning out 912 bhp. The S e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT produce 671 bhp and 845 bhp, respectively. The two RS variants also get a limited-time boost of 94 bhp that can be activated using a button on the steering wheel and is available for 10 seconds.

Audi

The RS e-tron GT Performance can do the 0-100 kmph run in 2.5 seconds, while the S e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT can do it in 3.4 and 2.8 seconds, respectively. While the S e-tron GT has a top speed of 245 kmph, the two RS variants have a top speed of 250 kmph.

Audi

Audi says that despite the power bump, the rear electric motor is now lighter by 10 kg. This reduction in weight was achieved using a lighter rotor and stator as well as by optimising the cooling system. Furthermore, Audi has also strengthened the driveshaft which it says will ensure smoother power distribution and a reworked electronics system for better distribution among all four wheels.

Audi

The e-tron GT gets a larger 105 kWh battery that gives it a range of up to 609 km on a single charge. However, Audi hasn’t revealed the range of all the variants. The German marque has also improved the charging capabilities of the e-tron GT as it now supports up to 320 kW DC fast charging, an improvement of 50 kW. Audi claims the e-tron GT can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes and in 10 minutes, it can give a range of up to 280 km.

Audi

Audi has also given the updated e-tron GT an air suspension with two-chamber and two-valve technology, and this is available as an option. Audi claims this suspension improves the handling of the e-tron GT without compromising on comfort. The suspension can also raise the EV by up to 77 mm. Additionally, the updated e-tron GT also gets rear-wheel steering.

Audi

Cosmetically, not much has changed with this update. The S e-tron GT variant gets subtle, mainstream styling cues, while the RS variants get a sportier design language. Audi has added new designs for the 20-inch alloy wheels. The RS variants get a reimagined version of Audi’s iconic Avus design, which debuted on the 1991 Audi Avus quattro concept.

Audi

Inside, the e-tron GT has tweaked the design of the seats and the steering wheel. In addition, Audi has also updated the digital instrument cluster as it now shows battery temperature and maximum possible charging power in real time. Furthermore, it also gets an updated panoramic sunroof that turns opaque and is an optional extra.

Audi

In India, the Audi e-tron GT is priced between ₹1.72 and 1.95 crore (ex-showroom, India). Expect the updated model to be launched in India either later this year or early next year.
