The Tiguan R-Line is slated for a market launch on April 14.
The latest entrant in Volkswagen’s SUV lineup, the all-new Tiguan R-Line is closing on its market launch on April 14. Before that, the company has now announced the safety features of the car, and it will clearly be its most advanced tech-laden SUV. Under the hood, the Tiguan R-Line is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI EVO engine, producing 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.
Safety remains a core focus of the Tiguan R-Line, earning it a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. The SUV is equipped with 9 airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and front and rear disc brakes. Incorporating 21 Level 2 ADAS features, the Tiguan R-Line enhances safety with a suite of intelligent assistance systems. Notable among them is Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, which monitors blind spots and warns of approaching vehicles.
Front Assist with Emergency Braking helps prevent collisions by detecting obstacles ahead and automatically engaging the brakes. Lane Assist ensures the vehicle stays within its designated lane, while Park Assist Plus enables automated parking manoeuvres. Active Cruise Control (ACC) further enhances convenience by adjusting the vehicle’s speed based on surrounding traffic.
Lastly, one of the standout technological advancements is Volkswagen’s Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) Pro, which allows for real-time adjustments to shock absorbers, improving ride quality and handling. Additionally, the Vehicle Dynamics Manager optimizes electronic differential locks (XDS) and lateral dynamics to deliver better stability and cornering precision.
