The virtutal Vision GT concept is a showcase of Xiaomi's design and technology ambitions with no constraints in terms of cost or real-world materials.
Xiaomi is kicking its brand-building campaign in Europe into high gear ahead of a planned 2027 market debut. In collaboration with the popular Gran Turismo video game series, the Chinese carmaker has unveiled the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept hypercar, a “brand-new design exploration”.
A physical version of the virtual Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept will be on display at Xiaomi’s booth at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show in Barcelona, Spain, from March 2–5.

The company describes its Vision GT concept as “sculpted by wind”. It is designed for performance as well as comfort. It features a two-seat cabin with instrumentation displayed on the yoke-style steering wheel as well as the surface of a wraparound dashboard, rather than ordinary screens. Other design elements include scissor doors, LED lighting accents, a fin running down the centre, and sofa-style seats. “Accretion rims” around the wheels control how air flows, and the entire rear is one huge outlet for air, with taillights integrated into its outline.

A demo video published by Xiaomi also shows a screen integrated into the car’s exterior, near the driver’s door handle, and hints at integration with other Xiaomi products such as smartphones and wearables via its HyperOS ecosystem. The company has announced that the concept car has a 0.29 drag coefficient and -1.2 downforce, allowing it to corner at extremely high speed without losing stability.
The Xiaomi Vision GT will not be mass produced. It is intended to be a no-holds-barred showcase of the company’s design direction and technology research, as well as its imagination of human-car interaction in the future. However, elements of it might inspire future production cars.

Xiaomi is the first Chinese entrant and the first technology company to participate in the global Vision GT project, which encourages carmakers to build a virtual concept car with no limits, including materials, technology, and cost. These concepts represent each brand’s wildest dreams, unconstrained by reality. The Vision GT project is spearheaded by Kazunori Yamauchi, racing driver and producer of the Gran Turismo video game series, with the aim of imagining future driving experiences. Other global carmakers that have created their own concepts in the past include Bugatti, Porsche and Ferrari. Xiaomi is the 36th company to participate, and the Xiaomi Vision GT is the 51st concept in the series.
Yamauchi and Xiaomi had announced last year that the SU7 Ultra would officially be the first playable Chinese production car in Gran Turismo 7. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s upcoming production YU7 GT has reportedly been spotted testing in China, and is still reportedly on track for a launch in early 2026, along with multiple other models.
