Yulu currently caters to Swiggy, Zomato, and Blinkit among others to meet their fleet electrification goals.
Shared EV mobility brand, Yulu announced today that it has surpassed 100 million green deliveries across the country with its fleet of 30,000-strong EVs (two-wheelers) in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Gurugram. As a consequence, Yulu has also helped save over 25 million kilogrammes of CO2 emissions in the last-mile delivery sector.
Speaking on this occasion, co-founder and CEO of Yulu, Amit Gupta said, ”Making mobility better every day is a stated business principle at Yulu, and it translates into cleaner and more liveable cities. The latest milestone gets us closer to that goal.” He added, “What’s equally gratifying is that in the process of getting here, Yulu has enabled 30-40% higher savings for delivery partners (compared to petrol vehicles), supporting countless sustainable livelihoods across the country.”
Currently, Yulu helps delivery-based businesses like Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit and others to meet their fleet electrification goals with its DeX NV and DeX GR electric scooters. Both are based on the same platform with similar underpinnings. While the NV is good for 10 kg of payload, the GR can accommodate 5 kg extra. The top speed of both scooters are limited to 25 kmph, thereby making them ideal in the urban world.
Last-mile deliveries accountYulu’s ease of business structure, which allows these companies to easily hire riders without vehicles or even driver's licenses, has helped grow operations and made it more efficient through higher ride uptime. In the process, it has also opened up new employment and earning opportunities in the gig economy. With last-mile deliveries accounting for half of all e-commerce delivery-related emissions, and CO2 footprint is expected to reach 8 million tonnes by 2030. Yulu claims that its fleet of EVs for this sector will help accelerate decarbonisation and companies can speedily achieve its sustainability goals.
