Zypp Electric has joined hands with Indofast Energy to deploy 1 lakh electric two-wheelers in the country over the next 12-18 months. This new fleet will be initially deployed across eight Indian cities, which are, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow & Jaipur.
The expansion follows Zypp’s successful trial of 10,000 electric vehicles using Indofast's battery-swapping network. In Delhi and Bangalore, swap stations are positioned every 1.5 kilometres, claims the press release. “At Zypp Electric, we are committed to redefining last-mile logistics with sustainable and cost-effective EV solutions. This major expansion will not only solidify our market leadership in India but also propel us towards global markets in Southeast Asia, the Gulf, and Africa,” said Tushar Mehta, Co-founder & COO at Zypp Electric.
Both companies expect the programme to make electric vehicles more attractive to delivery workers by eliminating concerns about battery maintenance, replacement costs and charging time. “The deployment of 100,000 battery-swappable EVs is a resounding testament to our unwavering commitment to electrify India's logistics landscape,” concluded Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President, Indofast Energy.
