Tata Punch.ev First Drive Review

Welcome to our in-depth review of the Tata Punch EV, Tata Motors' fourth electric vehicle and their first on the new Acty.EV platform. But is it worth the hype it created in the market? Let’s find out!

Packed with Features
The Punch EV doesn't skimp on technology. Enjoy a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless connectivity and Tata's Arcade.EV, allowing you to play games or stream content while charging. It also includes a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charger, 360-degree camera, and a 14-litre frunk. Talk about being fully loaded!

Safety 
Safety is paramount with the Punch EV, which has earned a 5-star crash test rating from Bharat NCAP. With an impressive 31.46 out of 32 for adult safety and 45 out of 49 for child occupant safety, it’s one of the safest cars on the road. Standard safety features include 6 airbags, ESC, and ISOFIX 
anchorages.

Impressive Range and Competitive Pricing
Tata Motors claims a range of up to 421 km on a single charge, offering two battery options: a 25 kWh for medium range and a 35 kWh for long range. The price of Tata Punch EV is between ₹10,99,000 and ₹15,49,000, making it a competitively priced option with multiple variants.

Unique Design with Room for Improvement
For the first time, Tata has significantly differentiated the ICE and electric SUV versions of the Punch. The EV sports a new bumper, split headlamp setup, and a full-width light bar at the front. However, the rear design remains largely unchanged from its petrol counterpart, a missed opportunity for a more distinct look.

Comfort and Practicality
While the new Acty.ev platform ensures no raised floor for better under-thigh support, the compact dimensions limit legroom. The 366-litre boot is spacious but comes with a high-loading lip.
