Both the motorcycles receive cosmetic and feature upgrades.
With the festive season on the horizon, Classic Legends has updated its popular range of motorcycles. The 2023 Jawa 42 Dual Tone has been launched at Rs 1.98 lakh whereas the 2023 Yezdi Roadster will retail for Rs 2.09 lakh (both prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Jawa 42 Dual Tone features clear lens indicators, redesigned mudguard and even the fuel tank shape has been altered. Additionally, it also gets premium-looking diamond cut alloy wheels. Other improvements include redesigned bash plate, new seats and handlebar mounted mirrors. On the mechanical front, the new Jawa 42 is powered by the same 294.7 cc engine as seen on the older bike and develops 27 bhp and 26.8 Nm of peak torque.
Talking about the new Yezdi Roadster, the focus was to make the bike more touring-friendly and for this purpose it features a forward set footpegs (extended by 155 mm) and a taller handlebar. The Yezdi Roadster with the older ergonomics will also be sold alongside so buyers can choose the variant which suits their riding style better. On the cosmetic end, the 2023 Yezdi Roadster gets diamond-cut alloy wheels and redesigned exhaust mufflers. According to the brand, the new exhaust note of the bike is throatier and this was done based on customer feedback.
The new Yezdi Roadster is offered in four new colour options including three dual tone themes: Rush Hour Red, Forest Green, and Lunar White, and a solid theme - Shadow Grey. The Yezdi Roadster sports a 334 cc, liquid-cooled motor developing 29 PS and 28.9Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
Commenting about the new products, Ashish Singh Joshi, CEO of Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles said, “At Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, our story goes beyond motorcycles; it's a tale of passion, innovation, and our unwavering commitment to crafting machines that transcend generations. We continuously strive for evolution and innovation to create motorcycles that are not only admired but also cherished and desired. The introduction of the new Jawa Forty-Two and Yezdi Roadster is a testament to our pursuit of excellence and our responsiveness to customer feedback. These motorcycles are our promise to riders that they are part of something enduring and beautiful.”
The new updates should make the Jawa and the Yezdi motorcycles more appealing to buyers as both the motorcycles hadn’t received any upgrades since their launch. Both these motorcycles compete with offerings such as the Triumph Speed 400, Royal Enfield classic 350, Honda H’ness CB350 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
