The updated sporty e-scooter range is likely to get more performance and improved features.
Ather has signalled the arrival of an updated 450 series for 2025 with the launch of the e-scooters to take place on January 4 at 12 pm. The updates for the standard 450S and 450X have been long in the tooth. Expect the asking price for the scooters to go up by around ₹5000.
What changes should one expect? Hopefully for more range to begin with. Currently, Ather offers the 450 e-scooters with a 2.9 kWh or a 3.7 kWh battery option. Accordingly, the 450s would go 90 km or 110 km of range in SmartEco mode. Expect a small bump in this figure for the forthcoming updated scooters.

One can also expect the new bits and bobs from the Rizta and 450 Apex to make their way on to the 450s. Stuff like Magic Twist and SkidControl (basically traction control) have been missing from the 450s. Our current experience with the Rizta has proven that these features do tend to come in handy and enrich the overall commuting experience.
More on the updated 450 series e-scooters to be revealed on January 4. We would have gotten our first taste of the updates also by then. Stay tuned to our social media channels for all the updates.
