This is the most hardcore iteration of the Super Adventure range.
KTM just took the wraps off its flagship adventure tourer, the 1390 Super Adventure R. Building on the same set of upgrades and powered by the new 1,350 cc, V-twin engine that KTM first debuted with the 1390 Super Duke R – the new KTM 1390 Super Adventure R has now become more powerful and promises to be a much better tourer. While prices are still under wraps, it will sit at top of the Super Adventure line-up along with the S Evo, therefore it will be one of the most premium adventure tourers to come out of Mattighofen.
The V-twin engine in the new 1390 Super Adventure R produces 173 bhp and 145 Nm. And just like the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo, the ‘R’ also gets KTM’s latest semi-automatic gearbox and variable Camshift technology. KTM claims that the latter helps deliver a strong mid-range – making the bike more tractable and ideal in off-road scenarios.

Aesthetically, the new 1390 Super Adventure R carries forward the same revised bodywork that we already saw with the 1390 Super Adventure S and S Evo. There are a few minor tweaks here and there that make it more suited for off-road usage. Like the shorter windscreen, for example. The bike continues to be built around the same revised, lighter trellis frame as well. But unlike the S Evo which gets the latest generation WP Xplor semi-active technology suspension, the 1390 Super Adventure R gets manually adjustable 48 mm WP Apex Xplor USD fork and shock absorber. Both are good for 220 mm travel. The brakes have remained the same though, with dual 320 mm disc brake at the front, and a single 267 mm disc brake at the back with Brembo’s latest Stylema monobloc piston calipers.

Similarly, the new KTM 1390 Super Adventure R also carries forward the latest 8-inch TFT touchscreen cluster. Along with that the same plethora of connectivity features and different ride modes, too.
Sadly, the new KTM 1390 Super Adventure R will not make its way to India any time soon. After all, KTM India just launched 1290 Super Adventure S last month at a whopping ₹22.74 lakh. And while deliveries for the new 1390 Super Adventure R will commence in Europe from next year onwards, the folks at Mattighofen will deliver the bike in the USA as a 2026 model – so with this strategy in the purview, hopefully it arrives here by the end of 2025.
