With this facelift, the changes to the Sonet have not only been on the surface.
The Kia Sonet facelift made its global debut in India. The Korean carmaker will open bookings for the subcompact SUV at midnight on December 20, 2023, and prices will be announced in January when deliveries commence. Here are five things that have been added to the Kia Sonet facelift.
Yes! The Sonet facelift now also gets ADAS! This makes it the second subcompact SUV to get this driver assistance system, after the Hyundai Venue. Also, the Sonet is now the third Kia model in India to get ADAS, albeit with fewer features than its siblings.
The Sonet gets a new grille that’s larger than before, new LED headlamps and new C-shaped LED DRLs. Coming around to the back we see a new alloy wheel design and the new taillights that are connected by an LED light strip, much like what was seen on the Seltos facelift earlier this year.
While not much has changed inside, Kia has updated the upholstery and it gets new colour options. The top-spec X Line trim gets a Sage Green interior like the Seltos, the GT Line gets a black and white interior and the Tech Line trims get a new Black and Tan interior. The Sonet also gets new buttons for the climate control panels.
Kia has retained the 10.25-inch touchscreen from the outgoing model but the Sonet now gets a 360-degree camera. Furthermore, it also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that it shares with the Seltos.
In less than a year, the diesel manual has made a comeback in the Sonet! It still gets that 6-speed iMT gearbox and will sit alongside the 6-speed manual gearbox. All other gearboxes remain the same.
