The Daredevils stunt team is comprised of BSF soldiers and their stunt shows are one of the key highlights of the Republic Day parade show.
The Daredevil stunt team was back at the Kartavya Path to showcase some of the most daring stunts as part of the Republic Day parade. The stunts are performed by BSF soldiers, and most of their acts see the soldiers balancing on Royal Enfield Bullets. While their dangerous aerobatic shows leaves us in awe every time, as bike enthusiasts we couldn’t help but wonder why don't they upgrade their rides? So to help them, we have listed down five bike which we think will fit them perfectly and act as nice upgrades:
Our first choice for the Daredevil team is the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z. It's one of the most powerful bikes from the Indian brand and it looks oh so cool! The design of the Pulsar NS400Z itself will give the Daredevil team a youthful appeal. Plus, the bike is built around a tried and tested perimeter frame and it suspends on sturdy USD fork and monoshock. So the kind of stability that the Daredevil team needs to perform their daring acts is available. Plus given the power and torque at hand, it might even encourage the team to try out some new stunts.
Given how devoted the Daredevil team is towards Royal Enfields, our second alternative choice would be from the heritage brand’s own stable – the Himalayan 450. This is probably one of the sturdiest bikes from the Chennai-based company on offer right now. Its sublime suspension setup will be ideal for the stunt team and that rigid trellis architecture will easily be able to withhold weights that the team usually subjects its bike to. It might not have a long stroke engine like the Royal Enfield Bullet has, but that liquid-cooled 450 cc mill doesn’t lack any power and will easily be able to pull through all the stunts.
Since we are on the topic of Royal Enfields, the upcoming Classic 650 is one solid alternative that the Daredevil team should consider in the future. They already ride on 350 cc Bullets, and the upcoming Classic 650 with its bigger parallel-twin will be an ideal upgrade for the stunt team. Besides more power, the Classic 650 is also built on a tried and tested chassis that can be traced back to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 which debuted almost a decade ago. And since the Classic 650 has a long wheelbase and sturdy foundations, doing balancing acts should be a child's play.
Not the most practical option out there, but the TVS Apache RR 310 looks stylish and should give the Daredevil team a nice stylish appeal. More so, this was the first bike that TVS built in collaboration with BMW Motorrad and amongst the three, it certainly is the best. It's sharp, looks agile and rides pretty stable. If they get the BTO variant, they’ll get access to a whole lot of accessories and adjustability options too. The new TVS Apache RR 310 raises aspiration levels, and if the Daredevil team got one in their garage, it would certainly make them look a whole lot aspiring as well.
The Hero Xtreme 250R is the latest quarter-litre naked sport offering from Hero. The bike stands out for its high standards of fit and finish. While we are yet to test the new liquid-cooled, 249 cc, single-cylinder engine, it reads pretty impressive on paper. Just like the Apache RR 310, the new Hero Xtreme 250R should also help make the Daredevil team look stylish and cool.
Given how pollution levels are increasing day by day, the Daredevil team should think of other alternatives and EVs might be the way forward. If that is the case, then the Bajaj Chetak can work as a nice alternative to perform their stunts on. This all-electric scooter is built around a sturdy architecture and the body panels are made out of metal, just like the Royal Enfield Bullet. Plus, with no fuel costs to bear, the Chetak sounds like a nice economical and logical upgrade.
