Alternate routes for Mumbaikars to avoid getting stuck in traffic.
With PM Narendra Modi set for a roadshow in Ghatkopar on Wednesday, May 15, the Mumbai traffic police announced restrictions to facilitate the event. The roadshow, covering a 2.5 km distance from 8 pm onwards, will commence from Shreyas Cinema on LBS Marg and conclude at Gandhi Market. This event is in support of BJP's Mihir Kotecha, who is contesting from the Mumbai North East constituency.
To manage this, the traffic police have announced closures along the route. LBS Road from Gandhi Nagar Junction to Naupada Junction and Mahul-Ghatkopar Road from Meghraj Junction to RB Kadam Junction will be closed for all vehicles in both directions from 2 pm to 10 pm.
Additionally, several connecting roads may also be affected, including Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road from Ghatkopar Junction to Sakinaka Junction, Gulati Petrol Pump Junction on Hiranandani Kailash Complex Road, Golibar Road, and Ghatkopar Metro Station (West) towards Sarvodaya Junction.
In light of these closures, commuters are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion. The Mumbai Traffic Police recommends utilizing Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central Road, Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, Sion-Bandra Link Road, and Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road.
For a clearer understanding of the rally route, please refer to the attached map screenshots and plan your travel accordingly for tomorrow. Modi's itinerary includes addressing rallies in Dindori and Kalyan before making his way to Ghatkopar for the roadshow.
