The Indian electric two-wheeler race has warmed up quite nicely, with legacy manufacturers finally dominating the scene with their widespread network and reliable service. While giants like Honda and Hero MotoCorp have yet to catch the lead, manufacturers like Bajaj Auto and TVS Motor Company have already established themselves in the competition. As per the latest Vahan report, the Pune-based manufacturer has retailed 19,290 units in February, which puts it in the top spot. Closely followed by TVS Motor Company in second position with 17,405 units.
Bengaluru-based Ather Energy is posted in third position after retailing 10,723 units last month. The brand’s portfolio was recently updated, which saw the Ather 450X undergo some feature and hardware updates. You can get the full rundown about these upgrades in our first ride review video below.
Ola’s woes seem to be neverending now. According to the Vahan portal, it registered just 7,963 units. However, reports state that the company has disputed this figure and claims that it has registered 20,000 bookings, which puts it as the market leader.
Greaves Electric Mobility continued its upward trajectory, maintaining its position ahead of Hero MotoCorp with 3,243 units compared to Hero Vida’s 2,455. This represents the second consecutive month Greaves has outperformed the traditional heavyweight.
Despite this positive momentum, total electric two-wheeler sales fell below 70,000 units in February, a significant drop from January's nearly 100,000 units. This decline stems primarily from Ola's reduced registration numbers and smaller decreases across other manufacturers. However, these are figures, as per FADA, Ola Electric is back at the lead and was leading the race last month. You can learn all about it here, by heading to the link here.
