While TVS sold 10 per cent more two-wheelers last month in the domestic market, its export business grew by 46 per cent.

TVS has reported an encouraging financial performance for January 2025, with total sales climbing 17 per cent compared to the same period last year. The Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer sold 397,623 units in January 2025, up from 339,513 units in January 2024. The company's international business was particularly impressive, with exports surging 46 per cent.

Two-wheeler sales showed significant momentum, increasing 18 per cent to 387,671 units. Domestic sales grew by 10 per cent, reaching 293,860 units. The company saw notable segment-specific growth, with motorcycle sales rising 12 per cent and scooter sales jumping 29 per cent.

Electric vehicle (EV) performance was especially strong, with sales increasing 55 per cent to 25,195 units. The export segment also continued its upward trajectory, with electric two-wheeler exports rising 52 per cent to 93,811 units.

TVS’s motorcycle sales are expected to further boost, for the brand is expected to launch its first adventure bike this year. It will be built around a new platform powered by a completely new 299 cc engine called RTX-D4 that the brand introduced last year at its annual bike festival. On its EV front, TVS has also finally commenced the deliveries of its most premium all-electric offering, X. How much of that gets lapped up by the consumers this year remains to be seen now.
