However, Hyundai India witnessed a 4.31 per cent YoY growth between January and July 2024.
Hyundai Motor India Limited registered total sales of 64,563 units in July 2024, which is a year-on-year (YoY) decline of more than 3 per cent. This tally includes domestic sales of 49,013 units and exports of 15,550 units.
The domestic sales and exports for Hyundai India saw a YoY decline of 3.33 and 2.81 per cent, respectively. Even the total sales of Hyundai in July saw a marginal decline compared to June 2023.
In the period between January and July 2024, Hyundai India registered sales of nearly 4.32 lakh units. Compared to the same period last year, the South Korean manufacturer witnessed a growth of 4.31 per cent. During the first seven months of 2024, Hyundai sold more than 3.46 lakh units in the domestic market (3.48 per cent YoY growth) and exported 85,020 units (7.68 per cent YoY growth).
The facelifted second-gen Creta recently crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone. The compact SUV also achieved its highest-ever sales month in July 2024, with 17,350 units sold.
Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai India, commented, “We have posted an overall sales growth of 4.31 per cent year-on-year in the period of January to July 2024. SUVs continue to demonstrate a robust contribution, accounting for 66.6% of total HMIL domestic sales."
