Auto Sales May 2024: Hero MotoCorp Witnesses Minor Dip In Sales

Hero MotoCorp announced sales figures for May, 2024 and it isn’t positive news for the largest two-wheeler manufacturer of our country. Hero managed to sell 4,98,123 units last month, which is a 4.1 per cent drop in sales as it had clocked sales of 5,19,474 units in May, 2023. However, it’s not all bad news for Hero as the brand registered 10,31,708 units in the first two months (Apr-May, 2024) of the financial year as opposed to 915,581 units it had managed to sell in the corresponding timeline last year. This results in an impressive growth of 12.6 percent. 

 As expected motorcycles contributed the major chunk in the overall sales as Hero MotoCorp sold 4,71,186 units, which is significantly lesser than the 4,89,336 units it had registered in May, 2023. Scooter sales were also down from 30,138 units to 26,937 units last month. However, exports surged to 18,673 units from 11,165 units in May, 2023.

The company is focusing on the 125 cc segment as it plans to increase production of the Xtreme 125R to meet demand and this will help the brand clock better sales in the coming months. Talking about future products, Hero MotoCorp will be expanding its scooter portfolio by riding in the Xoom 160 and Xoom 125 soon.
