Auto Sales September 2024: Mahindra Registers 16% Growth

Mahindra & Mahindra sold 87,839 units in September 2023, witnessing a Year-on-Year (YoY) growth of roughly 16 per cent, where it sold 75,604 units. Compared to August 2024 when it sold 76,755 units, the Indian auto giant saw an increase of around 14 per cent in sales. 

In the passenger vehicle segment, Mahindra sold 51,062 cars in the month gone by, which saw it grow by 24 per cent compared to 41,267 units in the same period last year. Between April and September 2024, Mahindra sold more than 2.6 lakh units with a YoY growth of 21 per cent.  

Mahindra sold 23,706 units of commercial vehicles in September 2024, witnessing a decline of 1 per cent compared to September 2023 (23,997 units). However, compared to the previous month when it sold 21,092 units, sales of the brand’s commercial vehicle saw an increase of 12 per cent. 

Apart from the commercial vehicles, Mahindra also sold 10,044 three-wheelers which saw a significant YoY growth of 27 per cent compared to 7,921 units. This segment also saw a month-on-month (MoM) increase of nearly 8 per cent compared to August 2024 (9,326 units). 

In September, Mahindra exported 3,027 units, witnessing 25 per cent growth compared to 2,419 units in September 2023. However, MoM exports of Mahindra and Mahindra saw a marginal decline of more than 1 per cent, compared to August 2024 when it sold 3,060 units.
