Bajaj Auto May Sales Surge 20% to 4.61 Lakh Units

Bajaj Auto recorded domestic sales of 2,48,031 units in May 2026, marking a 10 per cent rise compared with 2,25,733 units sold in the same month a year earlier, the Pune-based OEM announced on Monday. The company's total sales, including exports, climbed 20 per cent year-on-year to 4,61,257 units, against 3,84,621 units in May 2025. Overseas shipments were a particular bright spot, surging 34 per cent to 2,13,226 units, underscoring the automaker's sustained momentum in international markets.

In the two-wheeler category, domestic volumes rose 9 per cent to 2,09,528 units from 1,91,412 units in the corresponding period in 2025. Exports of motorcycles and scooters climbed 30 per cent to 1,83,676 units, lifting total two-wheeler sales 18 per cent to 3,93,204 units.

The commercial vehicles division also delivered robust figures. Domestic CV sales grew 12 per cent to 38,503 units, whilst exports leapt 65 per cent to 29,550 units. Combined commercial vehicle sales reached 68,053 units, a year-on-year increase of 30 per cent.

For the April–May period of FY27, Bajaj Auto's domestic sales rose 11 per cent to 4,96,241 units, up from 4,46,348 units during the same stretch last year. Total sales across the two-month period climbed 30 per cent to 9,75,049 units, buoyed by a 57 per cent jump in export volumes.
