Bajaj has already received over 30,000 inquiries for the CNG motorcycle with deliveries already commenced in Pune
After initially offering the motorcycle in Maharashtra and Gujarat, Bajaj will now start to sell the new Freedom 125 CNG in Delhi. This comes nearly a month after the bike’s launch that took place in Pune with deliveries of the same already commenced in Bajaj’s home town from July 16 onwards. The asking price for the Freedom 125 CNG starts at ₹ 94,995 (ex-showroom Delhi) with the other two trims likely to be priced the same in the capital city as well.
The promise of the Freedom 125 CNG was clear: half the running cost when compared to a petrol commuter. And when we did test out the claims, the bike returned an astounding 104.2 km/kg fuel efficiency in CNG mode. Head here to read more on our riding experience of the world’s first CNG powered motorcycle.
Currently, Bajaj has only started to deliver the top-spec disc brake enabled variant of the Freedom 125 CNG. While it is certainly arriving at a premium over its 125 cc petrol commuter rivals, it would turn out to be far more beneficial and economical in the long run. And if your daily running involves long hours in the saddle, then you would certainly be delighted with the money savings, recovering the premium that you paid for it sooner.
During our test, we were faced with quite a lot of intriguing questions from the public, regarding its safety, fuel filling process, and rideability. We bring all of those answers in this story. And if you are majorly concerned about whether or not straddling a 2 kg CNG tank is safe or not, you should check out this story where we dive into the 11 safety tests that Bajaj has conducted to showcase the Freedom’s robustness.
