BMW will showcase two new vehicles at the Concours event in Italy later this week.
BMW always showcases something new at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and the latest edition will be no different. The German marque has teased not one but two vehicles it will be showcasing at the Concours Event in Italy later this week. The new vehicles will include a concept car and a motorcycle. Additionally, BMW also mentioned that it will showcase new M models.
While not divulging much, BMW’s designers – Adrian van Hooydonk and Domagoj Dukec – teased the rear of the upcoming concept. Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Dukec said, “The sky is the limit”, hinting that the new concept will be a convertible of some sort. In the teaser, no panel gaps are visible which could mean the concept will have a Targa roof configuration, meaning only the top part is removable. However, take this with a pinch of salt.
Hooydonk’s teaser shows the new concept vehicle will have a big light bar at the rear and its reflections suggest there will be a hump running through the middle of the concept car.

While not much is known about the concept car, it could be a new Neue Klasse concept vehicle. This speculation primarily arises from the fact that BMW is pivoting towards the Neue Klasse series as its future design language. The Vision Neue Klasse showcases the brand’s future sedans, while the Vision Neue Klasse X previews the design language for its upcoming SUVs. If BMW follows this trend, the new concept car could shine a light on how BMW’s upcoming sports cars could look like.
BMW has a history of showing radical concepts at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. In 2023, it unveiled the Concept Touring Coupe which was a shooting brake based on the BMW Z4. In 2022, BMW revealed the hardcore M4 CSL which took the M4’s performance up a notch.
At Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2024, BMW will be showcasing multiple M models as it said “BMW M is traditionally represented by an array of new products.” One of the models on display will be the new M4 CS but BMW could also showcase the much-anticipated M5 at the Concours event. BMW will also showcase a new motorcycle which it claims will be “rock ’n’ roll on two wheels”.
BMW is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Z8 this year and mentioned that it will “feature in a variety of ways” at the Concours. Could one of the “ways” be the new concept car being teased by the brand’s designers?
Furthermore, BMW will showcase its 20th Art Car which will be designed by American artist Julie Mehretu. According to the teasers by BMW, the new Art Car will be based on its latest Le Mans prototype race car and it will be participating in the 24 hours of Le Mans race in June.
