Brabus, the German tuner renowned for working on Mercedes-Benz cars, has revealed its version of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 E Performance. Called the Brabus Rocket GTS, it converts the coupe into a shooting brake, i.e., a two-door station wagon.
The Rocket GTS gets a full carbon fibre body with an exaggerated body kit. It gets a huge front splitter which Brabus says is designed to reduce lift at high speeds. The front bumper also gets large air intakes that direct air to the front brakes. Even the grille gets better intake for improved airflow. The Rocket GTS also gets five-spoke alloy wheels with a carbon fibre disc connecting all five spokes.
The biggest difference between the Rocket GTS and the AMG GT is the rear end. While it gets the same taillamps, the design of the boot has been drastically altered to make it look like a shooting brake. It also gets a ducktail spoiler that swoops around the back in both corners. It also gets illuminated quad exhaust pipes in the rear bumper.
Inside, the Rocket GTS is adorned with carbon fibre on the steering wheel, centre console and doors. The rest of the interior is full of leather and Alcantara. The Rocket GTS also gets a bespoke luggage set with the same leather finish as the interior.
It is powered by a 4.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine along with a hybrid powertrain, producing 986 bhp and a massive 1,820 Nm (combined). The engine itself produces 785 bhp and 1,250 Nm, while the electric motor produces 201 bhp and gets a 6.1 kWh battery pack. In comparison, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance produces 805 bhp and 1,430 Nm (combined) from its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine.
