Finance schemes, an extended warranty, and a maintenance package will be available with select models from August.
BYD India has announced a festive season offer covering its electric passenger vehicle range, with benefits available from August on select models and variants under a campaign the company calls "Celebrate Your Dreams with BYD".
The offer lands ahead of India's festive period running from August through Diwali, traditionally the busiest window for vehicle purchases. According to BYD, eligible buyers will receive charging coupons on select variants, a complimentary two-year maintenance package, extended warranty cover of up to 200,000 km, finance schemes with interest rates starting from 7.77 per cent, and a festive gift hamper.
The lineup on offer comprises four electric models: the Sealion 7, Seal, Atto 3 and eMAX 7 — the last a facelifted, renamed version of the earlier e6 people-mover. Prices span from the compact Atto 3 to the Sealion 7, BYD's flagship electric SUV-coupe, priced from around ₹49 lakh. The offer follows a modest price increase BYD applied to select variants in July, underlining the balancing act carmakers face between margins and demand in the run-up to the festive season.
Rajeev Chauhan, head of the electric passenger vehicle business at BYD India, said the festive period was "an important time for many customers to make mobility choices for their families," adding that the company remained focused on "delivering advanced technology, safety, reliability and a strong ownership experience" through its EV portfolio.
The timing reflects competitive pressure across the segment. Tata Motors, Mahindra and Hyundai have all announced festive discounts or bundled benefits worth several lakh rupees on their electric models this year, partly to clear inventory ahead of new launches. Tata remains India's largest electric passenger vehicle maker by volume, followed by JSW MG Motor and Mahindra; BYD occupies a narrower premium niche, with annual retail sales in the low thousands even as the broader EV market has expanded sharply over the past year.
BYD entered India in 2007, initially supplying electric buses before moving into passenger vehicles in 2021. The company says it has served more than 15,000 customers through a network of 49 showrooms across 40 cities, backed by two manufacturing facilities representing an investment of over $200 million. Globally, BYD passed cumulative production of 17 million New Energy Vehicles in July, a milestone that underscores its scale as the world's largest NEV maker even as its Indian business remains comparatively small.
The company has also previewed its DM-i Super Hybrid powertrain for the Indian market, though a locally launched model is not expected before the end of the year.
Terms on the festive offer will vary by city and dealership, BYD said.
