The Classic 650 will be the newest member to join the 650 cc family after the Bear 650.
Royal Enfield will today unveil the new Classic 650 at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. But before the launch event, an image of the bike has been leaked from the shop floor giving us some interesting details. First up is the styling, as seen in previous spy shots, the form of the Classic 650 is very much similar to the Classic 350. It used the same LED headlight nacelle, the mudguard is similar and so is the shape of the fuel tank. The only big visual difference apart from the proportion are the twin pea-shooter exhaust muffler on the Classic 650. An interesting detail is the colour of the bike spotted, the black and chrome colour was very popular on the Royal Enfield Classic 500 and we might see some colour options from the older bike being reintroduced on the new RE motorcycle.
The RE Classic 650 will be powered by the tried and tested, 650 cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder motor pumping out 47 bhp at 7250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5650 rpm. It will be interesting to see whether or not Royal Enfield engineers have changed the engine tune or not. The 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch will remain unchanged. The frame, suspension components and braking hardware is shared with the Interceptor 650. The RE Classic 350 was never known for any features and the same theme continues in the case of the Classic 650 too, you get an analogue speedometer with a small display for fuel gauge, trip meter and odometer. Tripper navigation pod could be offered as standard along with adjustable levers. The new Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to make its India debut at Motoverse in Goa later this month.
