Exicom plans to gradually shift operations from its current Gurugram facility to its new integrated plant in Hyderabad.

Exicom Tele-Systems Limited has inaugurated a new integrated manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, marking a major expansion of its production capabilities for EV charging infrastructure and critical power solutions. The new plant represents an investment of ₹216 crore and reflects the company’s push toward strengthening domestic manufacturing in the fast-growing power electronics sector.

Spread across 18.4 acres with a built-up area of around 2,80,000 square feet, the facility significantly expands Exicom’s manufacturing footprint. In its first phase, the plant is expected to increase the company’s production capacity by 2.5 times while generating more than 750 jobs in the region.

The Hyderabad facility has been established to address the rising demand for EV charging equipment, lithium-ion battery systems, and critical power infrastructure across domestic and international markets. These solutions support a wide range of applications, including electric mobility, telecom networks, and data centres — segments where reliable, uninterrupted power is essential.

Designed around Industry 4.0 principles, the plant integrates advanced automation, robotics, and digital traceability systems aimed at ensuring consistent manufacturing precision at scale. The facility also features an ISO 8 cleanroom environment and specialized testing infrastructure that allows products to be validated under demanding real-world conditions.

India’s first EV charger interoperability testing centre

One of the key initiatives planned at the site is the establishment of India’s first EV charger interoperability testing centre. The goal is to ensure compatibility between EV chargers and vehicles from different manufacturers, an important step toward building a more seamless charging ecosystem. The facility will also manufacture Tritium’s TRI-FLEX liquid-cooled power modules, bringing global EV charging technology closer to the Indian market.

The plant meets multiple international manufacturing standards, including IATF 16949 for automotive quality management, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018. These certifications underline the company’s focus on maintaining high levels of operational quality and safety.

Commenting on the development, Anant Nahata, CEO and Managing Director of Exicom, said, “This facility truly reflects what we mean by Beautifully Engineered. It brings together precision

manufacturing, advanced automation, rigorous testing and complete product traceability to ensure every product we build meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. These capabilities allow us to innovate faster and scale with confidence.”

Sustainability has also been incorporated into the facility’s design. The campus includes 40 percent green cover, a 1 MW rooftop solar installation, rainwater harvesting systems, and a dedicated sewage treatment plant. The site has been designed to meet IGBC Green Building certification standards.
