Two EVs, two MPVs, one three-row SUV, one subcompact SUV and a subcompact sedan will be launched in India this month.
The festive season begins in October and manufacturers are gearing up to capture the increased demand it brings. The past few months have seen multiple launches including new models and variants, and October will be no exception. Let’s take a look at what’s in store this month.
Launch: October 3, 2024
Expected Price: ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
In October, Kia will launch not one but two new models in India. The first of which will be a revival of a nameplate in India, the Carnival. Kia’s larger MPV was discontinued in India in 2023 and we will now get the facelifted version of the 4th generation. Bookings for the Carnival are already underway for a token amount of ₹2 lakh. The MPV will be available in two colour options and a two-tone black and brown interior theme. It is available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 190 bhp and 441 Nm. Head here to know more about the new Carnival.
Launch: October 3, 2024
Expected Price: ₹80 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The second launch for Kia India this month is the EV9. However, it is likely that the brand’s flagship electric vehicle (EV) will only be showcased alongside the Carnival with its launch likely to happen early next year. The EV9 will be available in a single variant (GT Line AWD 6 seater) that will come with a 99.8 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 561 km (ARAI certified). Its dual-motor setup will churn out 379 bhp and 700 Nm. To know more about the EV9, head here.
Launch: October 4, 2024
Expected Price: ₹6.5 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The Magnite has long been the only product in Nissan India’s portfolio and it is now due to get an extensive update. Along with changes to the exterior, the cabin will also be updated and it is likely to get a larger touchscreen along with new features. While powertrain details are yet to be revealed, it is unlikely to be refreshed with the facelift of Nissan’s subcompact SUV.
Launch: October 8, 2024
Expected Price: ₹32 - 34 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The eMAX 7 will be a new generation of the BYD e6 MPV and will get significant updates like a new touchscreen, refreshed design and updated powertrains. It is likely to come with two seating configurations, a larger touchscreen and virtual instrument cluster as well as safety features like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, level 2 ADAS and more.
Launch: October 9, 2024
Expected Price: ₹80 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
The E-Class is the best-selling nameplate for Mercedes-Benz in India for a long time and the latest-gen model also comes to India in its long-wheelbase version. The E-Class will be available in two variants – E 200 and E 220d. It will be offered in five exterior colours and three interior themes and come loaded with features like the MBUX Super Screen, four-zone climate control, 17-speaker audio system from Burmester, reclining rear seats and more.
Launch: Late October, 2024
Expected Price: ₹7.50 - 10 lakh (ex-showroom, India)
Like the new Swift, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire will also be entering its 4th generation this year. The subcompact sedan from Maruti Suzuki has been a massive success for the Indian auto giant. While details remain scant, the new Dzire is expected to also be powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cyl, Z-Series petrol engine as the Swift. It is likely to come with new features like a sunroof (first in the segment), a large 9.0-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera and more.
