The updated Gurkha will get three-door and five-door versions upon launch.
The Force Gurkha has been long overdue for a fresh avatar and Force Motors is all set to launch the updated Gurkha later this month. Ahead of that, the Indian marque has shared a teaser of the new Gurkha, which shows its three- and five-door versions.
The teaser of the new Gurkha shows a lot of interesting design details. Contrary to previous reports, the fascia of the Gurkha will remain different to the Citiline and Trax range of SUVs from Force Motors. The new Gurkha will retain the round headlamp design with the LED DRLs in the circumference and LED headlamps.

Between the headlights is the same grille with big Gurkha lettering, as in the outgoing model. The lettering also confirms that the three- and five-door versions of the off-roader will have the same name. Furthermore, the teaser also showed that the Gurkha will be getting a new design for its alloy wheels that will be shod in Ceat Czar AT tyres, the same tyres found on the Mahindra Thar.
Other details visible in the teaser show the Gurkha will get a snorkel mounted on the right side, flared wheel arches, a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, a roof rack and indicators mounted on the bonnet (like on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class). In profile, the Gurkha gets thick window surrounds, like on other Force Motors’ SUVs like the Trax and Citiline. Even the design of the vertically stacked taillamps remains unchanged. Like its rivals, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Mahindra Thar, the Gurkha will also get a sideways-opening tailgate.

Under the hood, the Gurkha is said to get the same Mercedes-Benz-derived 2.6-litre diesel engine but in a higher state of tune. Power will be sent to all four wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. It remains unclear if the Gurkha will get an automatic gearbox option.
Interior and features of the Gurkha remain a mystery. Expect the five-door version of the Gurkha to get the option of three rows of seats. It is likely to get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a tyre pressure monitoring system and an electronic shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system, among others.
The Gurkha is currently priced at ₹15.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and the updated three-door version is likely to be priced at a premium. Prices for the five-door version are likely to be closer to ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
