Hero MotoCorp’s EV arm, Vida, recorded an impressive 70 percent MoM growth in VAHAN registrations in March this year.
Hero MotoCorp reported a healthy close to FY26, with total dispatches of 5,98,198 units in March 2026. This represents a 9 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase over 5,49,604 units in March 2025, indicating steady demand across its portfolio. For FY2026, Hero MotoCorp posted total dispatches of 64,68,834 units, up by 10 percent over FY25.
Alongside wholesale volumes, retail performance remained strong, with 5,42,436 registrations recorded on the VAHAN portal. translating to an approximate 24 percent growth during the month.
The March performance was underpinned by continued strength in the 100–125 cc segment, which remains central to Hero MotoCorp’s volumes. Motorcycle dispatches rose to 5,32,383 units, up from 5,06,641 units in March 2025. Meanwhile, scooters posted a sharper increase, climbing to 65,815 units from 42,963 units, reflecting a 24 percent growth.

This dual-engine growth obtained through commuter motorcycles and scooters suggests a broad-based recovery in demand, aided by product updates and improved rural sentiment.
Compared to February 2026, when the company dispatched around 4,68,410 units, March volumes rose significantly. The increase of nearly 1.3 lakh units translates to a month-on-month (MoM) growth of about 27.7 percent.
This sequential jump aligns with typical industry trends, where March benefits from year-end buying, inventory alignment, and festive demand in rural markets. Importantly, the rise in VAHAN registrations also indicates that retail traction kept pace with dispatch growth, reducing the likelihood of channel inventory build-up.

Domestic dispatches continued to anchor overall volumes, rising to 5,52,505 units in March 2026 from 5,10,086 units in the same month last year. Exports also grew, reaching 45,693 units compared to 39,518 units in March 2025. The company noted that its global business achieved its highest-ever dispatch levels, supported by demand for premium motorcycles and scooters across key international markets.

Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility arm, VIDA, recorded its highest-ever monthly VAHAN registrations at 21,434 units. This marks a sharp MoM growth of around 70 percent, pointing to accelerating adoption in the EV scooter segment. The brand’s expanding EV portfolio and increased market presence appear to be contributing meaningfully to overall growth, even as internal combustion engine (ICE) products continue to dominate volumes.
