The Creta Electric’s interior and features list are similar to the standard Creta but get a few changes.
Ahead of its launch later this month, Hyundai has revealed the interior and features of the Creta Electric. As expected, the interior of the Creta Electric is very similar to the Creta ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) barring a few changes. Hyundai also revealed the features of the Creta Electric.
The dashboard of the Creta Electric is the same as the standard Creta with two 10.25-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and the other for the virtual cluster). The virtual cluster gets EV-specific graphics with km/kWh consumption at the bottom, flanked by regen-mode and battery SOC readouts. The speed and range are displayed in transparent cubes. The infotainment screen also has EV-specific graphics.
Furthermore, the Creta Electric gets a different steering wheel compared to the standard and N Line Creta models. The Hyundai logo on the steering wheel has been replaced by the brand’s new logo in Morse code. The Creta Electric also gets the same HVAC control panel but while the standard Creta gets physical buttons, the EV gets a touch-based panel akin to the Alcazar facelift. Since the Creta Electric’s drive selector is now mounted on the steering column, a la Ioniq 5, some space has been freed up in the centre console and it now gets two cup holders in place of the gear selector.
The Creta Electric also gets foldable tables behind the front seats, a feature not present in the standard Creta but available on the Alcazar. The battery of the Creta Electric is mounted on the floor, which will allow for a flat floor and the Creta EV could also get a frunk but that remains to be seen.
Hyundai’s new electric vehicle (EV) will come with the same ADAS suite as the standard Creta, with 19 features and regen braking linked with ADAS. The Creta Electric also has features like a digital key, shift-by-wire, voice commands, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and more.
Safety features on the Creta Electric include six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brake, hill start assist, hill descent control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and tyre pressure monitoring system. It also has a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitors, auto wipers and more. Hyundai claims it has improved the structure of the Creta Electric as it uses advanced high-strength steel and high-strength steel.
The Creta Electric will get a front-wheel drive powertrain and gets two battery pack options. The electric motor with the 42 kWh battery pack generates 133 bhp and has a claimed range of 390 km, while the electric motor with the 51.4 kWh battery pack churns out 169 bhp and has a claimed range of 473 km. With the larger battery pack, the Creta Electric can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds (claimed). The Creta Electric also gets a battery heater which Hyundai claims will help improve the performance of the battery in cold weather conditions.
