Hyundai claims that more than 75 per cent of the total bookings comprise of the sunroof-equipped variants.
Hyundai Motor India has received over 50,000 bookings for the recently launched Exter. The automaker has said that bookings for the Hyundai latest micro-SUV has shot up from 10,000 (pre-launch) to 50,000 within 30 days of launch. Also, more than 75 per cent of the total bookings are for trim levels which come with the sunroof. These include the SX, SX (O) and SX (O) Connect variants.
The Hyundai Exter is priced from Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine which churns out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque. It can be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT unit. Although it lacks a turbo-petrol engine, the Exter offers a CNG variant with a 1.2-litre petrol + CNG engine producing 68 bhp and 95 Nm of torque. The CNG version is available with a manual gearbox.

The Exter is available in 7 variants, powered by a single petrol engine, and offered with both manual, automatic transmissions. Furthermore, the Exter comes with a 3-year, unlimited kilometres standard warranty which can be extended up to 7 years. The Exter gets six monotone and three dual-tone colour options. Positioned below the Hyundai Venue, the Exter competes with the Tata Punch and Citroen C3 in the micro-SUV segment.
