The iQOO Neo 7 Pro has been designed for gamers.
Vivo’s subsidiary iQOO has launched its latest smartphone, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro, which has been designed for gamers. The mobile has been launched at a starting price of Rs 34,999 going up to Rs 37,999 with 8/128GB and 12/256GB configurations. There is also a cashback offer of up to Rs 3,000 which makes the mobile even more affordable.
Now, even though this mobile has been designed for gamers, it is not running the latest processing hardware -- though very capable. It has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor which is based on a TSMC 4nm process and for many it is a more pragmatic chipset when measured against the current Qualcomm gold standard the 8 Gen 2. This is coupled with a dedicated gaming chipset that iQOO has devised in-house which allows games capped at 90 frames per second refresh rate to run at 120 frames per second.
The GPU has also been tuned to reduce power consumption while delivering a higher refresh rate. Though no concrete information around the new chip for gaming has been revealed, iQOO's claims should be taken with a pinch of salt.
But aside from this, there is a lot of good happening. There is a nice textured back offered in an orange and blue. The orange one is offered in vegan leather and the dark storm colour which is a gradient of blue and black is offered with plastic. The screen itself has a 6.78-inch radius and it uses AMOLED technology for deeper blacks and better power consumption with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR 10+ support and up to 1300 nits of brightness.
There is a capacious 5,000mAh battery that can be charged rapidly with 120W fast charging. The cameras are also very promising on the back. There is a 50-megapixel Samsung derived GN5 sensor which should deliver excellent performance in low-light situations. There is also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with a 16-megapixel sensor on the front.
The mobile will go on sale on an e-commerce platform on 15 July. iQOO is also promising 2 years of warranty, something which is also now being offered by the premium Vivo offerings. Interestingly, those who pre-order the mobile are getting another year of warranty which is unprecedented.
