Kawasaki has also rejigged the variant line-up of its entry-level roadster motorcycle in Indonesia.
The Kawasaki W175 might not be the most exciting motorcycle in India, but it is one of those popular models in Indonesia. Continuing this momentum and keeping the entry-level roadster afresh, Kawasaki has updated the W175 in the country with new colour options, and its variant line-up has also been rejigged.
Starting with the variants. In 2023, Kawasaki offered the W175 in three variants namely – TR, TRSE, and Cafe Racer. But moving forward, the W175 will be sold in SE, SE Black Style, and Cafe variants. The SE is the least expensive model in the line-up priced at 35,100,000 Indonesia rupiah (IDR) (about ₹1,78,663), followed by the SE Black Style priced at IDR 36,100,000 ( about ₹1,83,244), while the Cafe variant slot in as the most expensive variant at IDR 36,400,000 ( about ₹1,85,280).
Aesthetically, while the Kawasaki W175 has remained the same in terms of body design without any change in shape to the panels, instead all variants have been updated with new colourways. The base Kawasaki W175 SE has gained – Candy Arsenit Green and Metallic Smoke Gold/ Ebony – new colour options. The mid-spec SE Black Style has gained just one option namely – Metallic Spark Black. The top-spec Kawasaki W175 Cafe trim has gained two new colour options called – Pearl Storm Gray and Pearl White – with the Metallic Spark Black paint as the base colour.
Beyond these upgrades, the Kawasaki W175 has remained unchanged. Mechanically, it continues to be powered by the same 177 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is good for 13 bhp at 7000 rpm and 13.2 Nm at 6000 rpm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
While Kawasaki has not indicated anything about the same, there is a probability that these new options might make their way to India. Unlike in Indonesia, Kawasaki retails two distinct trims of the W175 in our country – W175 Street and W175. While the latter is available with just two colour options, the latter gets one monotone and four dual-tone colour options. These options were introduced last year at the India Bike Week in Goa.
