The fascia of the car is an evolution of the Kia Tiger face with a digital pattern lighting grille.

Following the EV9 concept showcase, Kia has unveiled its first electric SUV, the EV9, which will be based on the E-GMP platform developed by Hyundai Motors, Kia's parent company. The car will also be showcased at the New York Auto Show in the coming weeks.

According to Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design Center, "The Kia EV9 breaks new ground, aiming to redefine standards for design, connectivity, usability, and environmental responsibility."

The EV9 is a three-row SUV with back seats that can be rotated by 180 degrees. Kia is touting a peak range of 541 km on the dual motor model as per the WLTP cycle, and it will be equipped with 22-inch wheels.

Kia is also introducing its human driver pilot (HDP), a level 3 ADAS system that leverages a LiDAR, as well as V2X technology, which will be enabled for the first time in a Kia. The EV9 will be able to detect cars around it, and this system will be available in select markets.

The car also comes with the latest Kia Connect infotainment system, with dual 12.3-inch screens powering the infotainment experience. There is also a 5-inch control screen. Kia has also said that there will be a high-performance GT model much like the one on the EV6, which will launch in 2025.
