It slots in between the two 390 Adventure models.
KTM India has launched its off-roader on the new 390 platform – the 390 Enduro R – at ₹3.36 lakh (ex-showroom India). It is priced on par with the Kawasaki KLX230S, another enduro motorcycle that is available in India but boasts of lesser performance.
There has been much anticipation for a KTM off-roader that is accessible and can be a good dual-sport option. When we first saw the bike at EICMA 2024, that was a very good sign that KTM and Bajaj were getting serious. However, at the first ride of the bike, we were made aware that the India-spec model is different, as it has lesser suspension travel on hand. And then there is much grumbling on the internet, check out our reel below on the same:
Having said that, the bike is still very competent. The same engine and chassis setup from the 390 Adventure makes its way here. And while on paper, the suspension travel might be the same as the Adventure, the tuning of the components is certainly different. Plus, it gets 21-/18-inch spoke wheels with Mitas Enduro Pro+ semi-knobbies, the same tyres that are used on the KTM 690 Enduro R.
We have ridden the bike and our review drops later in the day at 6 pm. So stay tuned to know our experience with the new KTM off-roader.
