The production-ready electric scooter gets a 4.2 kWh battery, 12.5 kW peak power, a 26-litre underseat storage compartment and a seven-inch TFT display.

TVS Motor Company on Tuesday unveiled the production-ready M1-S electric maxi scooter at EICMA 2026, ahead of its planned entry into the European market. The model was first showcased as a concept. Positioned in the maxi-scooter segment, the M1-S is designed for urban commuters seeking a combination of storage space, riding comfort and electric performance. It is powered by a 4.2 kWh lithium-ion battery and has an expected range of 120 km under the European World Motorcycle Test Cycle (WMTC), based on the company's internal testing.

The M1-S is one of three electric models TVS Motor is presenting at EICMA 2026, alongside the Orbiter and TVS X. The company said the three products form part of its global expansion strategy and are aimed at addressing demand for sustainable urban mobility in Europe.

“Last year in Milan, the M1-S was a concept that showed where we wanted to take the electric scooter. This year it is back as a production-ready model,” Peyman Kargar, President, TVS Motor Company International Business Unit, said in a statement.

“Developed in Singapore, it brings responsive acceleration, practical charging, storage space for a full-face helmet and connected technology together in a full-size scooter for everyday urban riding. Alongside the Orbiter and the TVS X, it shows how we are building an electric line-up for European riders around accessible, sustainable urban mobility.”

Battery, Range And Performance

The M1-S uses a permanent-magnet synchronous motor mounted in the chassis. It produces a rated power output of 5 kW and peak power of 12.5 kW. The electric scooter can accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in 3.7 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 105 kmph.

Power comes from a 4.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) chemistry. TVS Motor expects the scooter to deliver a range of 120 km under the WMTC, based on internal testing and the current riding-mode configuration.

The M1-S supports charging at 1.8 kW, taking the battery from 10-80 per cent state of charge in 75 minutes.

Design, Dimensions And Storage

TVS Motor has developed the M1-S around three design principles: Presence, Tamed Emotions and Framed Surfaces. The design combines the proportions of a full-size maxi scooter with restrained styling, contrasting body panels and flowing contours. The scooter gets LED lighting, including distinctive front position lamps. The European launch version will be available in Spectre Black, with other colour options to follow.

In terms of dimensions, the M1-S has an overall length of 1,970 mm, a wheelbase of 1,350 mm, a seat height of 800 mm and ground clearance of 170 mm.

It gets a 26-litre underseat storage compartment designed to accommodate a full-face helmet. The storage space can also be used for a work bag or shopping.

Additional storage includes a front glovebox with a USB-A charging socket and an open compartment designed to accommodate a 500 ml water bottle or smaller items.

Suspension, Brakes And Rider Assistance Features

The M1-S is built around a tubular steel frame, with a telescopic front fork and dual adjustable rear suspension units. It rides on 14-inch wheels, with a 110/70 tyre at the front and a 120/70 tyre at the rear. The scooter also gets a tyre pressure monitoring system covering both wheels.

Braking duties are handled by 230 mm disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS. Cruise control is also part of the feature package.

Connected Features And Technology

The electric maxi scooter gets a seven-inch TFT display for riding information, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an onboard LTE connection. These systems connect the M1-S to the TVS application, available on Android and iOS devices. The connected features include key-fob starting, app-based seat opening and a find-my-bike function.

The onboard LTE connection allows features such as vehicle tracking and service updates to operate without the rider's smartphone being next to the scooter. The system also supports over-the-air software updates, allowing the vehicle's software to be updated remotely.
