Lexus India has reported a 14 per cent increase in sales during the first half of 2024, driven by strong consumer demand and positive market acceptance. The company's 'Make in India' initiative has played a significant role in this success, particularly through the flagship ES model, which accounted for 55 per cent of total sales from January to June 2024.

Tanmay Bhattacharya, Executive Vice President of Lexus India, said, “The first half of calendar year 2024 has been pivotal for Lexus India, marked by growth and increasing customer trust in the brand. We are thrilled with the positive response from our guests, which underscores our commitment to excellence.”
Since it entered the Indian market in March 2017, Lexus has established a strong presence in the luxury automotive sector, supported by local production and a diverse product lineup. Notably, the SUV segment saw significant growth, with a 60 per cent increase in sales compared to the same period last year, bolstered by popular models such as the RX and NX.

In a move to enhance customer confidence and set a new benchmark in the industry, Lexus India introduced an 8-year/160,000 km vehicle warranty for all new models sold in India starting from June 1, 2024.
In the luxury car market, Mercedes-Benz India sold 9262 vehicles in the first half of 2024, marking a year-on-year sales growth of 9 per cent for the company. BMW India is a close second having sold 7089 vehicles in the first half while Audi is a long way back in third place with just 1431 unit sales.
