Made-In-India Hyundai Exter Launched In South Africa

Hyundai Motor has expanded its exports portfolio in South Africa with the Made-In-India Exter at a starting price of R 269 900 (approx. ₹12.96 lakh). Available in 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, the Exter takes the company’s import tally to 8, which includes Grand i10 Nios, Aura, i20, i20 N Line, Venue, Venue N Line and Alcazar.

Because of being an import in South Africa along with other factors, the car is relatively more expensive than the version sold in India which has a starting price of ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom, India). If the equivalent price is compared to the cars of the brand sold in India, the budget for the South African version of the Exter coincides with the price of Creta which starts at ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

The Hyundai Exter employs the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops 82 bhp @6000 rpm and 114 Nm @4000 rpm coupled to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT unit. In India, the Exter also comes in a CNG version, Exter Hy-CNG available between ₹8.50 to ₹9.38 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
