Mahindra South Africa has launched the XUV 3XO and compared to the India-spec model, the subcompact SUV comes with a different interior theme and only one powertrain option. Otherwise, Mahindra’s smallest SUV remains the same. South Africa is the first international market to get the Made-in-India XUV 3XO.
In South Africa, the XUV 3XO is priced between ZAR 254,999 to ZAR 404,999 (roughly ₹12.21 - 19.40 lakh). In comparison, the India-spec XUV 3XO is priced between ₹7.49 - 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
The XUV 3XO in South Africa gets an all-black cabin theme with white contrast stitching, instead of the white and black dual-tone theme. The only similarity, in terms of colours, is the white headliner in both markets. Apart from the new colour scheme, the rest of the interior remains the same. It still comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen as well as a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It also comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charger, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, Harmon Kardon audio system, auto headlamps, auto wipers, blind spot monitor, cooled glove box and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features include six airbags, ISOFIX, electronic stability control, three-point seat belts with reminders for all seats as well as Level 2 ADAS.
While the India-spec model gets a choice of two turbo-petrol engines and a diesel unit, the South Africa-spec only gets one turbo-petrol engine. The 1.2-litre unit produces 110 bhp and 200 Nm and is mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The India-spec model also gets another 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 129 bhp and 230 Nm along with a 115 bhp, 300 Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine.
