Mahindra has dropped a teaser for a new BE6 edition, called Sporteq, on its social media channels. The company has held major multi-product launch events on Independence Day for the past several years, and now we have confirmation of at least one of the models it plans to announce.

The teaser video shows only flashes of the new electric SUV, but a few details are clearly visible. For starters, the BE6 Sporteq will have a triple-screen dashboard, much like its bigger cousin, the XEV 9e. This gives the front passenger a dedicated screen for entertainment and apps, alongside the central infotainment and control touchscreen, and a digital cockpit for the driver.

The long-rumoured BE6 update will likely also offer a refreshed cabin with different colours or materials on the seats and soft-touch plastic panels. Previous rumours had suggested that a comprehensive facelift would be announced, with one major change being the removal of the central arm which creates a cocoon-style enclosure for the driver. While not very clear, the video seems to show an uninterrupted space below the central touchscreen, suggesting that this separation between the driver and front passenger seats has in fact been dispensed with.

The company might also offer exclusive exterior paint colours, though the overall shape and design of the BE6 is unchanged. The teaser shows glimpses of other features such as an integrated rear spoiler, red LED lighting accents, and embroidered BE6 logos on the seats.

The Sporteq edition will likely have all the same features and performance specifications as the higher-end variants of the existing BE6. Details such as which battery pack options will be offered, will only be revealed at the time of its launch.

Buyers can expect tech features such as L2 ADAS with automatic parking, 360-degree camera view, a head-up driver’s display, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charging, and immersive entertainment with Dolby Atmos.

Mahindra announced a refreshed Scorpio N SUV earlier this week, clearing space at its August 15 event for other high-profile launches. In addition to launching the BE6 Sporteq, the company will likely unveil production versions of its Vision S, Vision T, and/or Vision X, the concept SUVs it announced last year, based on the Nu_IQ platform. A bigger BE 07 electric SUV has also been rumoured, as part of the company's strategic expansion plans.
