Mahindra Thar Roxx Specifications Revealed

The Mahindra Thar Roxx, one of the most awaited 5-door off-roaders, has finally been launched. Starting at ₹12.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Thar Roxx combines the rugged capabilities of its smaller sibling, the 3-door Thar, with enhanced practicality and a host of upgrades. Bookings will open on October 3, while deliveries are expected to start on October 12, coinciding with Dussehra.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Engine & Transmission

The 5-door Thar Roxx is powered by the same engine lineup as the existing 3-door model, although with some tuning improvements. Two engine options are available: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mStallion and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel mHawk. The petrol engine offers three different states of tune, producing up to 174 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The diesel, on the other hand, delivers a peak power output of 172 bhp and up to 370 Nm of torque.

Both engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic, giving drivers the flexibility to choose according to their preferences. Mahindra offers the Thar Roxx in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Dimensions

The 5-door Thar Roxx stretches the dimensions of the iconic Thar to suit families and adventure enthusiasts alike. Measuring 4428 mm in length, 1870 mm in width, and 1923 mm in height, the Thar Roxx is larger than its 3-door counterpart and boasts a spacious cabin with ample legroom and cargo space. The extended wheelbase of 2850 mm not only contributes to a more stable ride but also accommodates the extra pair of doors.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Rivals

The Mahindra Thar Roxx competes directly with the 5-door Force Gurkha, while also positioning itself as a larger, more premium alternative to both the Maruti Jimny and the 3-door Mahindra Thar.
