The Fronx was launched in India in April 2023 and the first 1 lakh sales milestone was achieved in 10 months.
Maruti Suzuki has announced that the Fronx has achieved another significant sales milestone. Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1.6 lakh units of the subcompact SUV since it was launched in April 2023. It took the Indian marque a little over a year to surpass this sales milestone.
In the financial year 2024 (FY24), Maruti Suzuki sold 1,34,735 units of the Fronx and in the first two months of FY25 (April and May), Maruti Suzuki sold 26,967 units of the subcompact SUV. This means the brand has retailed 1,61,702 units of the Fronx in the past 14 months. Acko Drive has reached out to Maruti Suzuki for a comment on this significant milestone and this story will be updated when we receive a response.
The Fronx achieved its 1 lakh sales milestone in just 10 months of its launch, and the next 50,000 took just four months. It averages out to around 11,000 units a month. The subcompact SUV is becoming increasingly popular in the Indian market. Its success can be partly attributed to the fact that SUVs are quite popular in the country. Another reason for the success of the Fronx could be its versatility and the plenty of features it offers.
Prices for the Fronx start at ₹7.51 lakh and go up to ₹12.87 lakh (both ex-showroom, India). It rivals the likes of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The Fronx comes with a plethora of features like a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, connected car tech, six airbags, ESC and more.
