Maruti Suzuki Reintroduces Mild Hybrid Tech For Brezza MT

Months after discontinuing the 48V mild hybrid technology on the Brezza’s manual variants, Maruti Suzuki has silently reintroduced it on the subcompact SUV, but with a twist. The Brezza manual now gets the mild hybrid tech on the top two variants – ZXI and ZXI+ – and it continues to be available on the automatic variants. 

The mild-hybrid system-equipped Brezza’s prices start at ₹11.15 lakh and go up to ₹13.98 lakh. Overall, Prices for the Brezza, including petrol MT, petrol AT and CNG MT, range between ₹8.29 lakh and 14.14 lakh. All prices (ex-showroom, Delhi). 

With the reintroduction of the mild-hybrid system, the fuel efficiency of the Brezza has also increased. The standard Brezza MT returns 17.38 kmpl, while the Brezza MT with mild-hybrid tech returns 19.89 kmpl. The Brezza AT and CNG variants’ fuel efficiency remains unchanged at 19.80 kmpl and 25.51 kg/km, respectively.

The Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 102 bhp and 137 Nm and comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Brezza CNG gets the same 1.5-litre engine but produces 99 bhp and 136 Nm in petrol mode and 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm in CNG mode. The Brezza CNG only comes with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
