Alongside the launch of the ‘biggest Pulsar ever’, Bajaj also seems to be working on a new affordable iteration of the Chetak. Confirmed by Bajaj’s top honchos themselves, coupled with spy shots of its test mule in real-world conditions.
The launch of this new Bajaj Chetak aligns with the company’s growth plans in FY24-25. Building upon the expansion of the Chetak line-up earlier this year which saw the electric scooter’s variant line-up get rejigged, and a bunch of additional features like a new colour LCD new instrument cluster that supports turn-by-turn navigation, music playback control, etc introduced.

As for the upcoming Chetak, aesthetically it will carry over the same retro-inspired design, but with limited colour choices, probably. It might also leave out a few features. Along with that, it is likely to be powered by the smaller 2.78 kWh battery, that used to power the pre-2024 Bajaj Chetak Urbane, paired with a hub motor instead of a BLDC motor. Thereby, range will likely be less than the Chetak Urbane’s claimed range of 113 km on a single charge.
Given that this new Chetak will slot below the Chetak Urbane, it will also most likely be priced around the ₹1 lakh mark. In this range, its competitor will include the recently updated Ola S1X.
