Nothing is all set to launch the Nothing Phone 2 on July 11
Nothing has announced a successful $96 million fundraising round, with Highland Europe leading the investment. This new round of investment also saw participation from existing investors such as GV (Google Ventures), EQT Ventures, and C Capital, as well as the popular electronic house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia.
Nothing recently announced its collaboration with Swedish House Mafia for the new Glyph Composer feature allowing users to compose a unique Ringtone with sounds from SHM.
With a global team of over 450 employees, Nothing is spread across seven offices. The company focuses on cutting-edge design, innovative user interfaces, and community collaboration to create a range of tech products targeted towards young and creative individuals. Furthermore, Nothing's products are designed with a keen eye on sustainability, aiming to contribute to a more environmentally friendly future.
Carl Pei, Nothing CEO and Co-founder, said, "It's clear that there's real demand for an innovative challenger in the consumer tech industry, and with this new round of financing, we've never been better positioned to realize our vision to make tech fun again."
Nothing has made a mark as a viable alternative in the consumer tech industry in a relatively short span of less than three years. Nothing got significant attention for their first phone, the Nothing Phone 1, which launched in 2022. It was recognized by Time Magazine in its "Best Inventions of 2022" list for its groundbreaking design and also won the renowned Red Dot Design Award.
Nothing is all set to launch the Nothing Phone 2 on July 11, which the company claims has a lower carbon footprint than its predecessor due to ongoing sustainability initiatives.
Tony Zappalà, a partner at Highland Europe, a London-based venture capital firm specializing in high-potential technology companies, led the recent funding round and will join Nothing's board.
With this substantial funding injection, support from investors and the involvement of prominent figures like Highland Europe and Swedish House Mafia, it is a strong vote of confidence in Nothing's vision and its ability to reshape the consumer technology landscape.
