Deliveries for both Ola Roadster trims will start from mid-March onwards, however there is a catch.
In just a few days after debuting its third generation of S1 electric scooters, Ola launches its debut range of electric motorcycles under the Roadster badge. It will be available in two distinct trim levels: Roadster X and Roadster X+. The former will be available in three variants with three different battery pack options, the latter will be limited to just two simultaneously with two battery options.

Just like the latest S1 electric scoots, the new Ola Roadster motorcycle is also based on the Gen3 platform, but housed in a different double cradle architecture. The credentials that come with the latest platform include lower manufacturing cost, higher energy efficiency and thereby more range, and power on-board. On the software front, Ola’s latest MoveOS5 tech will also be available with the bikes right from the start. Additionally, Ola Electric has also used flat cables for all the wiring which has further helped reduce weight and a lot of clutter in both bikes. Further making this platform more versatile is its scalability, so it can support various body styles in the future too.
The battery and electric motors are integrated together in a compact architecture. Irrespective of the battery configuration, all three Roadster X variants are powered by a 7 kW electric motor which is good enough for a 0-40 kmph acceleration in 3.1 seconds. The Ola Roadster X+ is available with a 11 kW electric motor that can do the same in just 2.7 seconds. Charging times are yet to be officially confirmed. However, Bhavish did mention that Roadster-duo will be available with a 1 kW charger as standard, and a bigger 2.2 kW charger will be in the mix too as an accessory.
Both the Roadster X and Roadster X+ will be available with a 4.2-inch LCD console which will display most of the useful bells and whistles as part of MoveOS5. From turn-by-turn navigation to cruise control, advanced regen, TPMS and OTA updates. There are three ride modes available with both the electric bikes too – Sports, Normal and Eco.
Deliveries for all Roadster X and Roadster X+ variants will start from mid-March onwards, except for the top-spec Roadster X+ with 9.1 kWh battery pack variant. The latter will come with Ola’s own 4680 battery cells, due to which deliveries will start from next quarter onwards.
