Rapido claims it has a zero-commission policy and claims to offer the lowest fares.
Rapido has now launched its cab-hailing services in a bid to rival giants like Ola and Uber in India. This will be in addition to the bike taxis and auto (three-wheelers) it offers customers. Rapido claims it will offer the lowest fares to its customers and has a zero-commission policy for its drivers (whom Rapido calls Captains).
The Bengaluru-based ride-hailing service started Rapido Cabs with a fleet of 1 lakh vehicles operating in Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi NCR. Rapido has plans to expand to more cities in the future and will enter Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities with a motto of creating employment in hometowns.
Pavan Guntupalli, Co-Founder of Rapido, said, “Our innovative SaaS-based platform revolutionises the conventional commission system for drivers, tackling the persistent challenger of commission sharing with aggregators.” He also added, “It prioritises customers by ensuring the lowest price guarantee and making our services exceptionally affordable for all.”
Cabs will be a part of the Rapido app and will be available alongside the bike taxi and auto options to users. Guntupalli also mentioned that unlike Rapido’s competitors who have multiple cab options, there will be only a single option for cabs on its app to make the process more seamless and upfront.
Rapido says it will charge a nominal fee from the drivers for using its services. As an example, it stated that it would charge ₹500 from the drivers for every ₹10,000 they earn which will act as a subscription fee. Rapido claims this will help drivers maximise their earning potential.
