Provost, who previously served as Chief Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs Officer, brings 23 years of diverse experience within the Group.
In a significant leadership move, Renault Group has announced the appointment of François Provost as Chief Executive Officer and Director, effective July 31, 2025. This follows the decision made by the Board of Directors under the chairmanship of Jean-Dominique Senard, based on recommendations from the Governance and Remuneration Committee.
Provost, who previously served as Chief Procurement, Partnerships and Public Affairs Officer, brings 23 years of diverse experience within the Group. His expertise spans international operations, strategic partnerships, and innovation, positioning him as a key driver for Renault’s next phase of growth and transformation.
The automotive sector is undergoing rapid changes, with intensified pressure for innovation, sustainability, and international competitiveness. Provost’s track record suggests that Renault’s future strategies will likely centre around capitalising on global partnerships, operational efficiency, and agile adaptation to market demands.
Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard expressed strong confidence in the new CEO’s ability: “François Provost will lead the Group with discernment and determination... his expertise will help us complete our current strategic plan and push forward with new initiatives in a rapidly changing industry.”
Provost’s international exposure is expected to enhance Renault’s global footprint, especially through strategic alliances and high-performance standards aligned with the Group’s core values. His leadership is anticipated to provide continuity and acceleration in Renault’s international development, leveraging its strong fundamentals: an innovative organizational model, robust product portfolio, and dedicated teams.
Upon his appointment, Provost emphasised collaboration, innovation, and customer-centric approaches: “I will dedicate all my energy and passion to contributing – alongside our 100,000 employees, our dealers, suppliers, and partners – to the development of our Group, one of the flagships of French industry for the past 127 years. Renault Group benefits from strong fundamentals... as we accelerate our transformation in an increasingly demanding environment for our industry.”
This leadership change can be seen as a reaffirmation of Renault’s strategy to thrive amidst the ongoing transformation of the automotive sector. Under Provost, Renault is expected to double down on international growth, urban mobility solutions, and digital transformation, while keeping agility in its operations.
The Group’s half-year financial results, due to be published on July 31, 2025, may further signal the financial ambitions under Provost’s stewardship.
This leadership transition is poised to steer Renault Group into a new era of innovation and global competitiveness, reinforcing its reputation as a pillar of the automotive industry.
