Chinese Himalayan against the recently updated RE Himalayan
The Brixton Storr 500 has been dubbed the "Chinese Himalayan" due to its striking resemblance to the RE Himalayan. However, the Storr 500 has a twin-cylinder, 500cc liquid-cooled engine. We've compared it to the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which marks the company's first foray into liquid-cooled technology. Here's a spec comparison between the two ADV bikes.
The main difference lies in the engine types. One is a parallel twin engine, while the other is a single-cylinder unit. Both the engines are revv happy, but the Storr 500 being a twin-cylinder offering should be ideally more refined than the Royal Enfield engine. However, it's clear that the Brixton Storr 500 has higher power and torque output, which is expected given its twin-cylinder design and larger capacity.

Although the Brixton Storr 500 has a twin-cylinder engine, which might lead you to think it would be heavier, it is actually 6 kg lighter. The fuel tank size is expected to be larger than the Himalayan's, due to its visually apparent size increase. The seat height on the Brixton Storr 500 is lower than the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, even with its 805mm low seat height option. The ground clearance may be affected, but no specific numbers have been released yet.

In terms of tech-based features, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 takes the lead with a digital instrument cluster that has a colour display and allows for complete screen sharing of maps from your phone. In contrast, the Brixton Storr 500 has a basic negative LCD panel that displays only essential information.
The design of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is more modern than its predecessor, with the industrial look toned down to some extent, giving it a longer appearance. In contrast, the Brixton Storr 500 resembles a bike that took an older Royal Enfield 411 and added numerous plastic panels to cover the industrial elements. It features an interesting colour combination, with a sage green base and yellow accents. Additionally, the bike has various adventure-themed Easter eggs throughout its design.
